Stephen Sloan
Stephen has more than 30 years of strategy, planning, and business transformation experience in a range of industries, including high technology and consumer products.
He has deep experience in the application of technology, business process, and value-proposition transformation to improve sales, operations, and financial results. His expertise includes service-profit chain and business process analysis, strategy development, and cooperative innovation within industry and partner ecosystems.
Stephen’s previous roles include leadership in and consulting to startups and turnarounds of businesses in ERP and CRM, software development, and online marketing. While in leadership at at Harry & David, he led digital transformation initiatives in operations, customer experience, and B2B sales. In addition, Stephen has consulted with Global 1000 technology firms on marketing and partner strategy.
Stephen has a B.A. from UCLA and completed core M.B.A. coursework at The Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine before stepping into entrepreneurship and consulting.
In addition to leading Sloan Value Partners, Stephen is the founder of the Humane Leadership Institute and Local Innovation Works and has served on a variety of arts, community, and education nonprofit boards including the Ashland Independent Film Festival, a couple of Waldorf Schools, and the Oregon Extension college humanities and sustainable living program.
When not working, Stephen loves cooking, taking photographs, skiing, and watching independent films with his three teenaged children.
